 A brief Mijas History

A famous hotel known as Tamisa in one of the villages at Mijas is related to the ancient times. The Village of Mijas is founded by the Tartessians and the history of the village dates back to the year 600 A.D. Initially the name of the village was ‘Tamisa’; later on it was changed to ‘Mixa’ and now finally in the current period it is known as ‘Mijas’.
